For children aged 10-16, Sergey Mukhametov will provide a first introduction to programming and basic data acquisition and processing. As part of a course lasting several days during the vacations, the acquired knowledge will be used to realize a small research project based on self-recorded environmental data. Through the concrete application of self-assembled sensor arrays (based on the senseBox environmental measuring stations) and the associated evaluation in their own programs (especially programming in the Blockly environment), it is possible to deal with the role of computer science, algorithms, modeling and programming and research-based learning including own data collection directly in urban and near-natural spaces.
The senseBoxes, which can be assembled as microcontrollers to form environmental measuring stations, are used for this purpose.
